'' But A Charade ''

As I head for a fall,
Will hindsight call?
Reminding me the past can't be changed,
I'm afraid this arrogant know it all,
From reality, I'm totally estranged.

When put to the test,
I always know best,
At the pinnacle is where I belong,
Others opinions I truly detest,
I am right it is they who are wrong.

Yes, it's true,
I'm better than you,
That is my honest opinion,
I can surpass anything you do,
Over others I claim dominion.

Open your eyes,
Me you can't criticise,
The reason is I am superior,
Advice from others I truly despise,
The reason, they are inferior.

With dogged persistence,
I'll put up resistance,
I do love to hear my own tone,
People like me don't need your assistance,
I'm comfortable being on my own.

Suddenly it became clear,
That's what's inside here,
Is no more than an arrogant faηade,
I desperately want to feel people near,
My ego is,
