I have an accord with my eyes,
Lust not after a pretty girl;
Never gazing upon her thighs,
Ignoring how her hair does curl.

What would God above do to me?
What about my inheritance?
Would He punish through a decree,
To bear my disobedience.

Are there not any disasters,
For wicked people who do wrong;
Would there be any forecasters,
Say if agony will prolong.

Is God able to see my ways?
Does the Lord count all of my steps?
Is He watching when someone strays?
Maybe an angel intercepts.

If I have walked with any lies,
Start running after deception;
Will He help me see the disguise,
Or help me with my perception.

Let God weigh me on honesty,
If I have been righteous enough;
He knows of my integrity,
When life and times seem to get rough.

If my steps left the proper path,
Or my heart has followed my eyes;
May my desire feel His wrath,
As if I sin would stain the skies.

Let someone else consume my food,
Then afterwards let them uproot;
For my stomach is not in the mood,
In eating any ripened fruit.

If a woman tries to seduce,
Tries to have a secret affair;
What marriage might produce,
If a man just might take a dare.

Such a scandal maybe divorce,
Might be a criminal offense;
A heinous crime as well of course,
That would be judged with no defense.
