' Time Is Ticking - Do You Hear It? 'Time is ticking - do you hear it? Another year soon ready to depart, Are you glad, are you sad, How does it truly affect your heart? It just begun - or so it seems This year on the brink of departure, For some it brought joy, for some it brought strife, But it's all in one year of a person's life. For you I hope the year was kind, And brought you smiles, and laughter, I hope the new will continue to, Provide just what you're after. A new year is anticipated With wonderment, and awe, We know not how, we know not why, As we stand and gaze toward the crystal sky. For me this year was better, Than the year before, But pleasure still eludes me, As I wait for its knock on my door. I hope the New Year allows for you, Each day to open brighter, And bring to you in full abundance, Prosperity, peace, and laughter. Rusty Blackwood © 2016 ~ This poem was inspired by the coming of the New Year, that, of whose threshold we now stand upon. It seems as if the present year, now dwindling, just began. But that is the course of time, and the course of life. Time moves as it always has, no swifter, no slower, but in fact always the same measure. But as I said in this poem, regardless of how swift time fleets, I wish each of you a Prosperous, Healthy, and Happy 2017!!! R.B. ~ > All Rights Reserved by Author < *** Vote for this poem
