When I look at you I see the truth. I don't need to see a caped hero nor do I need to see a Superman. I only need to feel the strength of your love and give back to you what you have given to me. You have often said that you are not strong; yet you have loved through illness and never given up. You still love me when I have failed you; yet you have never walked away even when it would have been the easiest thing to do. But when we go dancing on a Friday night and when we dance slow as you hold me tight, you make me feel like I am sixteen again. You treat me like someone very special even though we are not young but in our sixties. See what I have come to see. Know what I have come to know. You don't need to fly like someone else flies; you are the Super Hero that stays. Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
