Harry Sweeden. My life in verse.

Fear

I still regret all the years that I wasted
Searching for something… not there
A fantasy of a small boy still hoping
Of a future where he was not scared.

Where each day would be a new day to conquer
The mountains and valleys stretched wide
And the excitement of each sunrise calling
With no need too be fearful and hide.

But life is never quite that simple…
Finding so many new things to fear
Each new day just adds to my nightmares
That increases the horror I feel.

It seems fear is part of what makes me
How my strengths and my weaknesses unfold
I now know it will be my constant companion
Until all that I am is stone cold!
