It happens once a year
The older I get the better I wuz
Arizona and Spring training 2017
Though I do remember fall
You know my game basketball
This year to impress
I bounced the ball behind my back
I was going to take it to the rack
Grandpa the ball bounced towards the fence
"Saving that one for the three point shot"
Lyer lyer pants on fire!
Enough of showing off went to the free throw spot
Two out of six was all I got
So I faked  a knee injury
Three shot line was out
But spring training the arm is still there
Upper nineties batting against me not fair
In 1961
So I went to the batting cage
They have a radar gun there
thirty five miles an hour dying as it reached the plate
Had a hog dog and cracker jacks
Spring training is off the plate
It well be late spring before I can lift my arm
I well tell them how good I was that is the charm
Of growing older
Think I well go out to the golf putt putt
Tell everyone in sight how far I used to hit the ball
The older I get the better I wuz
Putting a par three just because
My eyesight going I cannot lose the ball
Next week I take up lawn bowling
The older I get the better I wuz
