In the harbor..
On the island..
For all the world to see,
Shone the light of freedom,
The torch of liberty.
They came from far,
They came from wide,
With hopes and dreams as bright,
The torch that showed the way,
The light that shone so bright.
The gates are slowly closing,
The light is barely dim,
A light that's slowly dieing,
Dieing from within.
No place to go..
No place to flee..
Call them by a new name,
Wretched refugees.
But weren't we,
Just like them,
All of us the same,
What we take away from others,
We deny ourselves the same.
