Three Dits Three Dahs Three Dits

They sent our ships to fish, my boys
Then awaited the possible cost;
Owners in ships and profits
Families in loved ones lost/

Three dits three dahs three dits
My boys
That's the morse for Save Our Souls

All along Hessle Road
The bell bottomed men
Enjoyed their brief shore time
Then it was off to fish again.

Three dits three dahs thhree dits
My boys
That's the morse for Save Our Souls

Three day millionaires
Three days home and then
Its back on board to sail my boys
And the cycle starts again.

Three dits three dahs three dits
My Boys
That's the morse for Save Our Souls

To the dangers of the storms
There was added to it all
When the ship was fishing my boys
The dangers of the trawl

Three dits three dahs three dits
My boys
That's the morse for Save Our Souls

Oh they had their radios my boys
But they didn't always take an op
Only the headscarf heroines my boys
Helped make that practice stop.

Three dits three dahs three dits
My boys
That's the morse for Save Our Souls

One hundred years or so
We had our fishing fleet
And for the supply of fish  my boys
There was a price to meet

Three dits three dahs thhree dits
My Boys
That's the morse for Save Our Souls

Ten thousand men perished my boys
Ten thousand lives just gone
But they're nearly all forgotten now
As time's flowed quickly on.

Three dits three dahs three dits
My boys
That's the morse for Save Our Souls

No fishermen in Hull these days
but our city paid the cost
In widows and fatherthess childer
From those ten thousand lives lost

Three dits three dahs three dits
My boys
That's the morse for Save Our Souls

Oh they sent our ships to fish, my boys
Then awaited the possible cost;
Owners in ships and profits
Families in loved ones lost/
