This moment captured in time will remain forever and a day I will look upon it as the sun reaches to find its new dawning I will hold it close to my heart as the first stars begin to light the sky
As I envision your mommy getting ready to tuck you into dreamland I will say a prayer to our great 'I Am' that somehow our world Will awaken to realize that hatred, one for the other, brings nothing But utter devastation of lives, and the continuance of anger and mistrust when someone finally calls the game over
I will so miss . . . home
The morning routine . . . the smell of fresh coffee Sunday Dinner at grandma's with the smell of fried chicken Greeting us as hugs and kisses are given all around upon entering
My easy chair . . . Watching the news And not being a part of it
Your first smiles . . .Your first steps
So many things I will miss . . . So many many things
As of in the morning "Tell daddy see you tonight" Will become so many tonight's away
To leave you and mommy without me with you Is almost too much for my heart to bare
I know you do not understand just now But it is daddy's duty to make our word safe So that yourself and your generation Might not have to face a talk Such as this one between us tonight
Daddy must do whatever it takes To honor and protect all that we enjoy Just as a lot of other daddy's do with pride
. . . . Just as one day you may also do
I hope you will forgive me For saying goodbye to you in this way But for you to wake and reach for me
Well Son . . . . . I am not sure I would be able To turn and walk away
Daddy has to go now You and mommy Take good care of each other
I love you both so much So very, very, much
Remember Son
We breath the same air We sleep under the same stars The only thing that separates us Is the distance that is only for the now
See you under the stars Son Somewhere . . . . under the stars
