Career Path


I didn't have a Career Path
When I look back into my past,
Jusy a series of jobs each
 More menial than the last.
I started off in Management
But soon worked my way down:
In one guise or another I've door
 Knocked most areas of the town.

A series of stumbles backwards
To earn my family's daily crust,
With a wife and young children
It was a case of needs must.
I seemed to have the talent for
Convincing I was competent
But as I bumbled along that
Good opinon very soon went.

Another menial sterile job
As I inched along the stoney way
To the nirvana of my life
My longed for retirement day.
Dyspraxic and dyslexic
I coped as well as I could
And in all honesty
My life was pretty good.

A dreamer not a schemer
I lived in my mind
Just a juggler of worlds
Not the practical kind.  
Came the appointed day
When I reviewed  my situation,
Realising, in retirement at last,
I'd found the ideal occupation,
