 ramblings and things

At The Humber Bridge Country Park

There's big dogs and little dogs
And all sizes in between,
Heinz fifty seven and pedigree
And breeds I'd never seen,
Smooth coats and rough coats,
 Long medium and short hair,
Some that look knitted,
 Coats like tight curly fur.

Long tails and short tail
Some just waggy little stumps
Like short radio aerials
Sticking up from their rumps.
Dogs with a little yap
Ones with a big bark
All congregated at the pond
At the centre of the park.

In and out of the water
Chasing balls and sticks
Swimming and paddling
And playing doggy tricks.
Some of them are fast
And some of them are slow
Some of them sedate
Some always on the go.

Dogs of all ages
From puppy to mature
Nervous dogs and calm dogs
Dogs dignified and sure,
And they all show their human
That they've enjoyed the trip
Showering them with water
After every little dip.

It's a scene of fun and joy
In a pleasant situation,
A sort of congregation of
A doggy united nation.
They all gather together
For a walk and a watery lark
In that big central pond at
The Humber Bridge Country Park.
