The Woman In The Mirror

The Woman In The Mirror

She finds herself living within circles
That never quite seem to close
Repeated circles placed as when
She was a child and penmanship
Was practiced by using circles that
Never quite connected
Page after page... Of overlapping circles

Allowing herself only to watch
As her daughter's heart is trampled
Leaving her wishing that the baby
She once held in her arms
Would listen to sound advice given
Mistakes easily made but not seen
With little regard to consequence

Overwhelming helplessness
Leaves a Mother's heart shattered
Knowing that this battle
Is not her own
But what of her grandchildren?

Life spins faster and faster
Not knowing what tomorrow will bring
She finds herself feeling
Like it is all somehow not quite fair
Outside hurts beyond this chapter
Where has her strength gone?
Doing and doing....
To only wonder of tomorrow
And the circles it will bring

Days meet nights and nights meets days
And the circle to tomorrow starts over
Yet once again
One side of her broken reflection to
Go on to face the new day
The other side praying not to loose
The person she has always been
Page after page of overlapping circles....
