Harry Sweeden. My life in verse.

Never coming back

I was born from the seeds of destruction
Brought into an angry young world
Where man was at war with his ego
And no one knew what would unfold?

There were wars over race and religion
Where a belief could get yourself killed
Where colour was a reason for slaughter
Where some people killed for the thrill.

There has always been a dominant factor
Whether for power or financial gain
But it has always been for one of these reasons
That so many have suffered such pain

In the past sixty three years I have seen much
But in reality nothing has changed
We still march into war unyielding
Over oil and a better rate of exchange.

Colour is still very much an issue
And religion a sea of despair
Faith is now a reason for murder
Yet somehow still believe that we care?

Nothing has changed and never will do
Until we understand one very simple fact
This one life is the only life that matters
Cause none of us are ever coming back!
