An Athiest's Prayer

They were only cannon fodder
Some blasé General had said
I hope his shade is harried
By those of his many dead.

And may all the many leaders
Who Marched us off to War
For politics and principles
Suffer purgatory evermore.

And may we find the courage to
say we're not animals, we're men
No more wars and slaughters
Never ever again.

And may we grow in stature
Celebrate mankinds'release
From constant wars and strife
And live in eternal peace.

May no person live in need
May we achieve a state of worth
May we live in constant harmony
With our bounteous Mother Earth.
