A Sunday sermon brought this word
Of which I had no knowledge...
Although my hunger for God's Word
Had me graduate from Bible College.
But no one ever learns it all...
It's always a little here and a little there
And when there's fire behind the pulpit
The congregation feels its flare!
The first Yud that I learned about
Was Elijah's tiny cloud.
It was just a little bitty thing...
But Elijah prayed aloud....
And his faith in God worked wonders!
Soon thunder and lightening came!
Then the sky turned as black as night
As the Almighty poured down rain!
The drought of three and one half years
Had ended with a Yud.
And it wasn't just a drop or two
But the abundance of a flood!
The dictionary defines a Yud
As tenth letter of an alphabet...
The tiniest in the Hebrew...
It's as small as small can get.
But, as I learned, small's the beginning
Of bigger and of better.
And a lot of hopes are pinned upon
The image of a Hebrew letter.
Each of us have got a Yud...
It may be too small for us to see...
But, one day like Elijah,
We will shout the victory....
As our little Yud begins a flood
Of the miracles we need.
Remember, it only takes a little faith
For a big God to intercede.

~~Dedicated to Bishop Drew for preaching that
uplifting sermon and for praying that God
might give me a poem....also to Pastor Don for
encouraging me to write a poem ..... and to
Sandy at my poetry site who wrote that my poems
were missed as they ministered to all the poets.
With the Holy Spirit's leading, these words began
to flow... thank you to all and thank you Jesus ~~
