Jacarand Blues....

How does the amazing Jacaranda do it?
Pull that magnificent purple out of the sun
And out of the Earth into blazing branches
Of royal hue only to drop sticky petals
On to the hood of my newly washed car

(You have to have lived in Southern California to get this poem....  The Jacaranda is an amazing tree native to the Southwest that each June bursts into glorious branches of purple flowers that when they drop, leave a sticky little blob of sap on anything underneath.  Many years ago many towns and cities decided that Jacarand trees would be lovely on residential streets.   They are---until each morning when you have to stop at the car wash on your way to work...or spend 30 minutes driving around to find a parking space that isn't under a Jacaranda Tree.)
