Salvation Lost

He found the Secrets of the Universe
On the wall of a bar in Tottenham
By the time he found a working pen
He found that he'd forgotten ‘em.

He knew exactly where they were
Because he knew just where he went
Etched on a plaque on the wall
Right above the door to the Gents

He's been back time and time again
He's searched both near and far
But nary a single sign
Of that elusive bar.

The salvation of mankind
Offered there on a token
Lost and gone forever because
His bloody pen was broken.
