But then the wife found out
Ranting and raving quite putout
She said my secret love had to go
isn't easy to give up love you know
In the far shadows of my garden gate
My secret love lay in wait
Under where the Hummingbird play
Darting about at the feeder all day
This is where I hid my secret love
MY cot to sit and watch things up above
A coffee cup occasionally a book
And occasionally I'd sleep the day away
Only she found hiding place and not with a grin
She put my cot in the corner in a garbage bin
And now my days work well never end
For the wife found my resting place
And my secret love cannot be replaced
For garbage day it disappeared without a trace
And now eight hours a day I must embrace
Not a single hour of work can I waste
