Harry Sweeden. My life in verse.

My pain

Once, I fell asleep while music played
And dreamed a peaceful dream
Then awoke to find one shinning star
In a sky I’d never seen…?
The sky was clear, crystal clear
But there were no other stars in sight
It felt as though darkness had died
One star took the fear out of night.
There was no sound just a whispering wind
That sang words in colours of gold
Silver tipped fireflies danced on my shoulders
I saw butterflies as their new world unfolds.

I heard no thunder
I saw no rain
I felt less anxious
Then forgot of my pain.

This place was different from the world that I knew
There was no doubt torturing my mind
All that I knew I didn’t need to wonder
Cause thoughts that I thought… were now mine.
I could see so much clearer from all points of view
And be honest with all that I knew
My actions once taken, would always be honest
No more running from what I must do.
Then tiredness came and I lay down to rest
Drifting quietly into dreams once again
But this time I awoke the stars were all hiding
…my dreams were just hiding my pain.
