The Green Grass Of Home

~The Green Grass Of Home~

Having lived most of my young life in one place was really comforting.
The beautiful thing was the green grass in the front and back.
There was a sense of continuity of family thanks to Mom keeping us together.
Dad always provided for us.
The outward signs of a loving home was the green grass being taken care of.
There was peace for the four of us in the single family home.
Life was so simple and uncomplicated for my brother, Ervin, and myself.
We never had it so good as we did there.
Upon growing up, there was another home we had but the yard wasn't all that green as the other.
I remember each with a good feeling for the love was always there for all of us.
Would like to take a trip back to the homes we had and remember the good things we had given to us.
But, alas, these days are gone forever for it is certain and sure I will not be doing any walking.
I had a stroke of my right side which left me without any strength to walk ever again.
Though this is true, it will not take away from the memory of the green grass of home.
