INSIDE YOUR HEART

Broken here I stand, at the entrance to your heart.
Somehow I feel so close to you, yet so far apart.
I knock but get no answer, as if no one is there.
I just want you to let me in, but you no longer care.
The door was once left open, I come in as I please.
But now the door is shut and locked, and I don't have the keys.
So I just keep on knocking, as I stand here hoping.
My hand is sore, my knuckles bleed, but still you will not open.
Your hearts' inside, where I reside, the place that I call home.
Now I'm left out, my love in doubt, feeling so alone.
It's cold out here, please let me in, I need your warm sweet love.
With every breath, I do breathe, it's you I'm thinking of.
It's dark out here, please let me in, I can not find my way.
If I get back inside your heart, that's where my love will stay.
I don't feel safe outside your heart, I have nowhere to go.
Only there inside your heart, my love for you bestowed.
I wait outside, day after day, to give you time to heal.
And somewhere deep inside your heart I know you love me still.
So I will keep on waiting until you let me in.
Your loving, warm, sweet, kind heart will complete me once again.
