He would not be like your father,
A rebellious generation;
Never stubborn or much farther,
Having stressful desperation.
A generation with crude heart,
Spirit whose unfaithful to God;
Pagan rituals to impart,
Idol worship that is a fraud.
The Ephraimite were armed with bows,
And using the flaming arrows;
But retreated as God bestows,
A condemnation of sorrows.
They did not keep His covenant,
Refusing to live by His Laws;
Not honored Him as Eminent,
Corruption filled with many flaws.
They forgot all of what He had done.
Wonderful works He has shown them;
All the battles that they had won,
But now the Lord is to condemn.
He worked wonders in their sight,
Amazing things both land and sea;
For their belief to gain the light,
Freeing them from iniquity.
He divided the sea in two,
The water stood firm like a wall;
Allowing them for getting through,
Before their foe had their downfall.
He led them with a cloud by day,
A fiery light through the night;
Showing them how they should obey,
For making the future look bright.
He caused water out of the rock,
Abundant drink to quench their thirst;
Protected them where they would walk,
But they kept putting themselves first.
Water was streaming out of the stone,
Making water flow down the rivers;
The complaints He did not condone,
Because they were unbelievers.
But all of us are His people,
We are the sheep within His pasture;
We must praise Him in His temple,
Hearing His Word from the preacher.
