Very much like a distant mirage
In the rear view mirror of life...
Does our commitment to Jesus now seem
Like a long ago war against strife?
If we'll just look around us we'll see
That the warring is now at full peak.
And supposingly civilized people
Act so un-civilized when they speak.
Disagreements now hold no discipline...
Hot hateful words are spewed out!
In fact, hate has divided our Country!
We no longer live what we're about!
While there's no way for us to be perfect
Or expect that our President be...
There are millions of ways he could do good
If we'd support him in prayer constantly.
So, instead of constantly bashing,
Let's do what the Bible Commands...
For praying for those in authority is
What the Lord God Almighty demands.
Lets remember believing the Bible
Is the same as believing the Christ.
In John Chapter One the Word became flesh...
Have we forgotten His great sacrifice?
We're not going to make it to Heaven
In this anger-filled state that we're in.
The Lord Jesus Christ died to free us from this...
For a heart filled with hate is a sin.
Our behavior's not that of believers...
We're acting like heathens would act!
I think God had me write this to try to convince
Everyone of this heartbreaking fact.
Why don't we fall on our knees in repentance
And pray that our country would heal.
Remember the devil has come to destroy...
For destruction is all he can deal.
But the Lord Jesus Christ has come to restore
Us back to the Father above.
How we treat one another will determine if we
Understand His commandment to love.
If you doubt that the Lord loves this president...
Then you really don't know our God's heart.
He died for this man the same way He died
To grant each one of us a new start.
We must forgive his insensitive statements...
Show him mercy and love at all cost.
He's an unfinished product that God's working on
So that our America wouldn't be lost.
But if this President is not to our liking
Then there's a right way to make this fact known.
It's called "the vote" ... not "the fight" or we'll reap
All these bad seeds of strife we have sown.

Strife is a strong and ongoing conflict over a fundamental issue.
Strife is deeper than argument, broader than disagreement
. Strife usually involves bitterness and sometimes violence.
We see strife today often in the political realm, as parties' vitriolic
attacks against their so-called political foes. Strife within families can
result in lifelong emotional scars. Strife between nations
can lead to war. When strife occurs among believers, the church’s
testimony is tarnished and Christ is dishonored.
Galatians 5:19-21
Now the works of the flesh are manifest,
which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions,
heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like:
of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which
do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
Proverbs 20:3
Avoiding strife brings a man honor, but every fool is quarrelsome.
Proverbs 17:14
Starting a quarrel is like letting out water; stop it
before strife breaks out.
