August Poem...

Late summer night
Waiting for Dawn
Deep dark blue-gray sky
Hint of a glow
On the eastern horizon
The night is longer
The earth is turning

Deep blue turquoise sky
August embracing late Summer sun
Dry breeze gently shakes leaves of thirsty trees
Any day now things will start to change

(The first stanza was written just before dawn from my 15th floor back poarch
and the 2nd stanza  was written sitting in a sidwalk cafe on a beautiful afternoon in Hillcrest)
