I am writing these things to you,
So that you will never sin;
For I am telling you true,
Ignore not your discipline.
But if anyone does sin,
We do have an advocate;
That Jesus Christ enters in,
Ensuring to vindicate.
Christ is propitiation,
For any iniquity;
A reconciliation,
Through our humility.
For we have come to know Him,
If we keep His commandments;
And cheerfully sing a hymn,
Praising of His achievements.
If His commands are not kept,
But saying that you know Christ;
Does not know any precept,
For temptations has enticed.
Then you do not know the truth,
Also, being a liar;
A character from your youth,
Loving earthly desire.
But whoever keeps His Word,
Truly has the love of God;
Perfected from what is heard,
Eager to honor and laud.
If within Him you abide,
You ought to walk the same way;
Letting Him to live inside,
Not tempted to go astray.
You claim to be in the light,
But are being filled with hate;
And it has blinded your sight,
Possibly sealing your fate.
But loves shows you in the light,
Having no cause for stumbling;
Through the wisdom and insight,
From Heaven to help mulling.
