The critters were all silent
As He came down to earth...
For they seemed to sense that His
Was not an ordinary birth.
O, how truthful and how honest
As might have quoted Honest Abe.
But the child born in the stable
Was much more than just a babe.
As astounding was the star
When announcing His arrival!
He was much more than the star!
There can be not one denial.
Much more than three wise men
Who came traveling so far...
Knowing not in which direction
But were following the star.
He was much more than the Angels
Whose heavenly voices all proclaimed
An event not even they
Could have truthfully explained!!!
He was much more than the shepherds
Who bowed down before the Lamb...
Not knowing He was royalty...
That He was The Great I Am!
For the babe grew up to manhood
To fulfill His Father's Plan...
He laid down His life at Calvary
To pay for the sins of man.
But He was more than His accusers!
More than dying could impose!
For on the third day came a rumble!
And in triumph He arose!
So on this God blessed Christmas morning
Of two thousand and eighteen
I wish you a Merry Christmas
May it be more than words can mean.
Lovingly,
Doris Jacobs-Covington December 24. 2018
1 Corinthians 15:3-8 3For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance:
that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4that he was buried, that he was raised onthethirdday
according to the Scriptures, 5and that he appeared to Cephas,
and then to the Twelve. 6After that, he appeared to more
than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same
time, most of whom are still living, though some have
fallen asleep. 7Then he appeared to James, then to
all the apostles, 8and last of all he appeared to me also,
as to one abnormally"
