In Matthew 9 and 27
We read about these two blind men.
Both had lost their sight...
Which meant they'd had it to begin.
For if Jesus Christ restored their sight...
It had to be taken from them.
We all know the thief and robber...
The one who always creates may-hem!
Satan comes to kill, steal, and destroy...
He is cunning through and through.
He was a liar from the start
And he still lies to me and you.
Now, he had stolen these men's sight...
But they could still see spiritually.
For they recognized the Son of David
And cried and begged for His mercy.
Perhaps they'd heard about His miracles...
They'd surely known this through the scrolls...
And they knew that the Messiah
Could heal their eyes and make them whole.
In verse 27 they addressed him as
The Son of David first...
But in 28 they called Him Lord
Because their faith in Him soon burst
Forth in that one great question
"Do you believe that I am able?"
By implying yes, they did believe,
Their miracle was on the table!
Now, Jesus knew they'd heard about
The things that He had done...
I believe His question dug much deeper...
"Do you believe that I'm the One?"
He touched their eyes and sight returned
According to their faith.
They could have gone to Heaven blind...
Instead they'll see that pearl shaped gate!
Many of us need eyesight back
And not just on a physical level...
Because many of us have been blinded by
This same sight stealing devil.
So when we're in need of miracles...
Because we know such times will be...
May our eyes rest upon the Healing One
The One who made blind men to see.
"THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS UPON ME,
BECAUSE HE ANOINTED ME TO PREACH
THE GOSPEL TO THE POOR. HE HAS SENT
ME TO PROCLAIM RELEASE TO THE CAPTIVES,
AND RECOVERY OF SIGHT TO THE BLIND,
TO SET FREE THOSE WHO ARE OPPRESSED
Then the eyes of the blind will be opened
And the ears of the deaf will be unstopped.
Matthew 9:27-28
27 And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him,
crying, and saying, Thou son of David, have mercy on us. 28 And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him
: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this?
They said unto him, Yea, Lord.
