THOUGHTS

THOUGHTS

My thoughts are often written on the backs of things
Bulletins and envelopes, some bound with strings
Stuffed in bibles, drawers, consoles and olden vases
Worn books, magazines and long forgotten places

        ----------               ---------------------

I'll pick out the sunny ones and glue them all together
Shred the blue ones from winter's darkest weather
A sea of emotions that wind through gentle rains
Allow them to touch you as they trickle down the panes

        ----------               ---------------------

In prose and in poems, paper towels that have been torn
A flower bed of mixed feelings, some weary and some worn
Some are stuck together, smudged with Strawberry Jam
Some practical and mythological, the sum of who I am

        ----------               ---------------------

I'm often the dreamer sending messages across the sea
Cradling life's pieces, but you'll know it's me
I'll be looking down on you from the teacup above
Writing new thoughts while sending my love!

        ----------               ---------------------

But for now, I'll keep on writing and sharing things
I'll write of twists and turns, then tie the strings
I'll write of buttery mornings that hug the olden vases
I'll write of new faces for those long-forgotten places

        ----------               ---------------------
