Seek the Lord as He may be found, Call on Him while He is near; Listen closely to hear His sound, Be sure to honor and revere. Let the wicked forsake his way, The unrighteous man his thought; Be not tempted to go astray, For any lusts that they have sought. And let him return to the Lord, That He has compassion on him; Let our God not be ignored, Pardoning what makes them so grim. For His thoughts are never your thought, Neither are your ways as His ways; Since forgotten what you were taught, For living out all of your days. As Heaven is higher than earth, So are higher His thoughts and ways; All of which is a priceless worth, Than all the anyone that preys. For as the rain and snow comes down, Returns not but waters the land; Can make a smile from a frown, Results from what He does command. He makes the seed bring forth and sprout, Giving seed to sowers for bread; The farmer should not have a doubt, That the Lord ensures you are fed. Shall His Word flow out from His tongue, Shall not return to Him empty; It will accomplish by purpose, To trample the iniquity. You shall be going out in joy, And being led forth in His peace; That you are able to deploy, With the blessings that will not cease. Instead of thorns sprout from a tree, Nor a brier grow from myrtle; An everlasting sign to see, The land is righteously fertile Copyright © 2020 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
