Ask a sign of the Lord, Let it be deep as hell; Heaven high in accord, From the place you do dwell. I will not try to ask, Put the Lord bit to test; But continue my task, Ensured to do my best. O house of David hear, Too little to weary; As I will still revere, No matter how dreary. The Lord will give a sign, A virgin shall conceive; Bearing who is Divine, Son of God to believe. He will refuse evil, Eating honey and curds; Will confront the devil, Quoting the Scripture words. He will know to refuse, The evil and choose good; Righteousness He will choose, As the Son of God should. The land whose has two kings, That shall be forsaken; Enlighten what God brings, Their eyes to awaken. The Lord will bring to you, On your people and house; Of the Word that is true, For the man and His spouse. Copyright © 2020 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
