For I would have to know, And I can certify; Of the Gospel to show, To preach and not deny. I receive not from man, Nor was it ever taught; But in Christ and the plan, A revelation sought. For in a former life, I persecuted the church; But the toils and strife, Tormented in my search. To gain in religion, Far beyond my own age; I want a tradition, To stop the jealous stage. Christ had set me apart, Long before I was born; Filled grace within my heart, In life that I sojourn. God had revealed His Son, In order I might preach; Through flesh and blood was done, And be able to teach. Copyright ©2022 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
