Prepare your mind for action, And being sober-minded: This place has no attraction, Causing you to be blinded. Set hope fully on the grace, Brought by the revelation; Not enticed upon this place, And be a new creation. Be not conformed to passions, Of your former ignorance; Go in obedient fashions, With spiritual tolerance. He who called you is holy, Be holy in your conduct; Of heavenly thoughts solely, As Christ Jesus did instruct. You shall be holy as He, Calling God as your Father; Who judges that He does see, And Jesus as Your Brother. Conducting yourself with fear, Through your time of exile; Show love, honor, and revere, So that you will not defile. Knowing that you were ransomed, Not with perishable things; Rather becoming blossomed, As to what His body brings. With the precious blood of Christ, Like a lamb without blemish; Because He was sacrificed, Having the love that you cherish. Known before the foundation, That He was made manifest; For your sake of salvation, By the Father, you are blest. Who through Him are believers, Who raised Jesus from the dead; Through your faith as receivers, Hope in the glory has fed. Copyright ©2022 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
