As you have always obeyed, Not only in my presence; And no longer have you strayed, Trembling fear in my absence. It is God who works in you, To will for His good pleasure; Your salvation makes it true, He thinks of you as treasure. Do all things without grumbling, That you remain innocent; Avoiding any mumbling, Bestow as a beneficent. A child without blemish, In this wry generation; For the Father to cherish, As a new creation. Shine as a light in the world, For being a shining star; Watch His plan be unfurled, An example as you are. Hold fast to the Word of Life, So that in the day of Christ; No labor of vain in strife, That evil would be enticed. Even if poured out as a drink, As a sacrificial lamb; Rejoice and be glad to think, That you please the Great I AM. Copyright ©2023 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
