Go and come again tomorrow, I will give then; you will have it; Do not go away in sorrow, For it will be worth your merit. Devise not evil against me, Who dwells trustingly beside you; So you will be able to see, Because I am faithfully true. Strive not with a man without cause, No reason has done any harm; Wait and let actions take a pause, There’s no grounds to sound the alarm. Envy, not any oppressor, Choosing not any of those ways; For the Lord detests a suppressor, That persecutes one who obeys. It is an abomination, To God, one who is devious; Blasphemous as vermination, Audacity is obvious. Uprightness in His confidence, The wicked house, the Lord will curse; Blesses the house of the righteous, Because of not being perverse. He is scornful to the scorners, But the humble, He gives them grace; They are the righteous sojourners, When sorrowful He will embrace. The wise will inherit honor, But the fools are disgraced in shame; For the wise man is the fawner, With wisdom from God to proclaim. Copyright ©2023 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
