I write these things unto you, Who believe in the Son of God; That eternal life is true, If you do honor and laud. This is the confidence that, We ask as fit in His will; And hears us where He has sat, In our hearts to instill. He hears whatever we ask, We know what we do request; Whatever will be that task, Righteously desired quest. To see a man commit sin, A sin not leading to death; God sends His Spirit to cleanse, Coming from His righteous breath. Only after to confess, About sinful wrongdoing; Repents for His transgress, In what He was pursuing. Each one who are born of God, Will never keep on sinning; Evil causes not to be flawed, Letting Christ keep on winning. We know that we are from God, As the rest of the world lies; If we do honor and laud, His wisdom will make us wise. For He gives understanding, Knowing it true when we pray; We know of His commanding, And idols we won’t obey. Copyright © 2024 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
