Let everyone be quick to hear, Slow to anger and slow to speak; Always unto the Lord revere, And to Him, you need to go seek. The wrath of man does not produce, Of any righteousness of God; Like the wench trying to seduce, Causes the man to become flawed. Put away rampant naughtiness, Lay apart all the filthy talk; Implanting the Word of meekness, Be with Christ wherever you walk. You can save your soul and spirit, Not just hearing but in doing; Faithful servants will inherit, By what the Word is pursuing. Anyone who does hear the Word, But never would be a doer; Is like a man's looks have occurred, His innate face in a mirror. He sees himself and goes away, And forgetting what he did see; Causing himself to go astray, Never praying on bended knee. The one who sees the perfect Law, Law of freedom and perseveres; Never worries about a flaw, Unto the Lord always reveres. Copyright © 2024 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
