I lift up my eyes looking unto the summit,
For I do not want my hopes to plummet;
From on top whence shall my help come?
Upon arrival will my anticipation succumb?
Will Noah or Moses render me some aid?
For I have pleaded every time I prayed;
No, for I know that my God will assist,
Because I know that He truly does exist;
He really made the Heavens and the earth,
And gave life to every creature from birth;
He who keeps God within will not slumber,
For He gives you energy not to encumber;
For he that keeps Israel will not sleep,
He's a shepherd watching over His sheep;
God's my keeper and shades me from trial,
He protects me from all that seems hostile;
The sun shall not smite me by light of day,
Nor the moon by night shall never betray;
God shield me from evil and hold my soul,
From here on out and forever more control.
