Let every one be subject to higher power,
Abide in the Word and in Scriptures devour;
Whosoever resists also resists God's Law,
Then risk eternal damnation for your flaw;
For rulers are not a terror to good deeds,
Rather to the evil which never concedes;
The power is nothing that you need to fear,
Do well and the Lord will have good cheer;
Be afraid if you are doing which is evil,
God's wrath on you doing work of the devil;
Render all tribute to whom tribute is due,
Be fearful of any fear that is also taboo;
Recognize honor to whom honor be given,
Of course forgive who needs to be forgiven;
Do not commit adultery or kill or steal,
Be a truthful witness and not to conceal;
Love your neighbor as of yourself to love,
For love's fulfilling of the law from above;
The night is gone and the day is at hand,
Let us walk honestly in the day of the land.
