A Gift

If I could create a gift with these hands
Would it be made of wood or perhaps sands
Would I give you more of my written verse
Would I paint a picture to capture your worth

If I could give a gift thats special to me
Would I give you the most beautiful sunrise I see
Would I capture the ocean and its strongest wave
Would I call to the storms that I try to tame

If I could create a gift, just one for you
You know that's exactly what I would do
Perhaps a star or a sweet morning dove....
It would have to be a gift created by love

So now here's your gift.....
I shall give my heart to you
Any other gift I could give will not do
Here is the sweet songs heard from above
Here is a promise of everlasting love

For your gift to me was the gift of your heart
Anything else in comparison shall pale from the start
So I sit here now and am entranced by its beat
Knowing I hold the greatest gift.....
Anyone could have given to me
