Diamond Ring

Diamond ring you've lost your shine
You're cracked and brittle, aged with time
A promise through you made...til death do us part
But does that vow include the death of a heart?

Diamond ring set back in a case
The velvet sits faded in many a place
Memories go with you of a moment in time
When I wore you so proudly...
His hand held in mine
