I love the winter and the beautiful snow.
It gives me the feeling of serenity.
It's my favorite time of the year.
The world is in turmoil
and people are tense
The fighting all over just doesn't make sense
The news is so frightening with fears always growing
But here in the valley, it's quietly snowing.
Crystal white flakes softly fall to the ground
and all around me there isn't a sound
In the city, there's rushing, people coming and going
But here in the valley, it's quietly snowing.
We watch the news with concern every day
With threats of terrorism coming our way
With wrinkled brow and heavy hearts we've no way of knowing
But here in the Valley, it's quietly snowing.
The gentle deer tread lightly as I watch them graze
and the squirrels gather food for winter's cold days
The future's uncertain and a chill wind is blowing
But here in the Valley, it's quietly snowing.
The white flakes so pure beckon us to not fear
The silence is deafening, it's all that I hear
Elsewhere there's bloodshed and weapons fire glowing
But, here in my Valley, it's quietly snowing.
