Summer Tryst

We shared sex against that tree
Just by the entrance to the park
Each one enjoying the other
In the summer evenings cool dark
We'd been together that afternoon
Now we were back to other lives
Responsible adults, parents,
Husbands and wives.

I'd undressed you all the evening,
Watching you over the rim of my drink,
That sated my thirst but not my lust,
Caught your glance, barely perceptible wink
And was up,
Across the floor
Contrived to meet you
Just by the door

Separate tables separate parties
Joined together by feelings of lust,
Anticipation of future meetings ,
Secret loves and open trust
