The Barren Fig TreeLuke 13:6-9 A man planted a fig tree out in his field, He checked for fruit but none revealed; Then he explained to his farm worker, "Lo, these 3 years to find that none occur; Fruit from the fig tree still nothing found, Chop it all up so we can use the ground"; The servant replied, "Let me try a cure, Until I dig around it and spread manure; If it bears fruit next year, well and good, But if not, cutting down then we should." Do you know someone that is like a fig tree? Maybe that someone could be you or me; If not given the attention or the care, We could be finding ourselves in disrepair; Without the nurturing from branch to root We can find even ourselves bearing no fruit; Reading the Bible at least once per day, Putting your trust in God and to obey; Confessing your wrongs to Him in prayer, And fruits of His blessings He will share.
