I drift off so slowly
Into my dream-filled sleep
I so often wonder
Just what is a dream

Could it be that a dream
Is a gateway into the soul
Showing us our wishes
Until our lives are whole

Could it be a memory
Of something once had but lost
Showing us how much we needed it
Showing us end results and the cost

Could it be a vision
Planted at night in our bed
Of the love our hearts harbor
Not just whats in our head

So many complex meanings
Just what is a dream
Maybe they hold the answers
That we normally could not see
