Making Amends

Matthew 5:23-28

If you're more righteous than the Pope,
Entering Heaven having no more hope;
Remember your brother as you pray,
Consider all the negativity to weigh;
First reconcile with him of the wrong,
Not to let any of the ill feelings prolong;
Then to church for worship and praise,
With a clear mind and heart to raise;
Make friends quickly with your adversary,
Before going to court is deemed necessary;
Lest the accuser gives you to the judge,
For whatever it may be holding a grudge;
Then to the guard taking you to jail,
Since you are too poor for making bail;
You will end up merely serving time,
Until you have paid every last dime;
As you have heard before about adultery,
Including acts of pornography and vulgarity;
For whoever even looks at a woman with lust,
The charge of committing adultery is just.
