Close Your Eyes

I skip rocks into this listless pond
Though outside reality does linger on
Close your eyes and come with me
To a place where pain can not befall me

The arms of the willow trees
Dance soft and silent like the breeze
Leaves to color now my wonder
As a velvet sky I sigh now under

Water lilies paint upon a canvas of blue
Their dress a crystal silken hue
Water sprays upon this crimson shore
As I stand here in this land of metaphor

Feet to play in a garden of clover
As sweet nightengale is drifting over
What harm now could come to me
Here in my haven...sweet sanctuary

I know that I must return anon
Where fools and angels lose their odds
But I will come back again one night
To swim again in this imaginary ocean of life
