War and Peace

Luke 12:49-57

Jesus came to cast fire upon the earth,
And give true believers a second birth;
In hopes that it were already inflamed,
For the Holy Spirit has been proclaimed;
He has a baptism to be baptized thence,
For receiving eternal life to commence;
For he is constrained until all is finish,
As war breaks out from another skirmish;
Did Jesus come to give peace worldwide?
Rather division causing families to divide;
For just one house will be divided by five,
In struggles making it difficult to survive;
Three against two and two against three,
Bloodshed along family line will decree;
They'll be divided with son against father,
As well as the mother against the daughter;
When you see a cloud rise out of the west,
A shower will soon come in thought as best;
And when you feel that a south wind blow,
The temperature will be hotter you know.
