To Every Purpose

Galatians 1:3

May peace and blessing be yours from God,
The Father and Jesus Christ who we laud;
A man lived in the Alps with his daughter,
They raised sheep next to flowing water;
One day they went for a lamb gone astray,
They found it in a thorny bush where lay;
Carefully and gently lifted the lamb out,
But it was bleeding in the leg there about;
The little girl felt sad in telling her dad,
"Let's cut it down since the bush is bad."
The father got his ax, went to cut it down,
Then saw a little bird there on the ground;
It tugged on wool that caught on a thorn,
Within its beak, flew away when it was torn.
The girl said, "God had a reason for a shrub,
Reason why we should not cut it to a stub;
The bird needed the wool for a soft nest,
So God fulfilled the need of its quest."
No matter how thorny life may seem to be,
God has purposes in everything from A to Z.
