Poetry From the Heart
Wondrous Things
Over the years I have discovered one truth
That life is made up of many wondrous things
From a bed full of roses, petals red, yellow, and white
To the mighty Grand Canyon, my God, what a sight
But life has its moments, when it offers to us
Something more precious, a personal touch
Something more intimate, a little more tangible
Such as a friendship, one shares with another
One so important, and carries such worth
One so strong as the mightiest surf
This kind of friendship I'm fortunate to say
I share with a person I met one fine day
A highpoint in life I really must admit
As a part of my life, you just seem to perfectly fit
Together we must nurture and care for our friendship
For just like a flower, it can wither die
But properly looked after, it can also blossom and grow
Into something quite wondrous, with a beauty all of its own
That life is made up of many wondrous things
