The Wall

Into her mind she slowly crept inside
For all of the pain she could no longer hide
Brick by brick she began to build
Her mortar consisting of tears and guilt

She hid behind this inner wall of death
So few have been able to reach her yet
Yet as insurmountable this wall did seem
It couldn't protect her from hopes and dreams

So she built it higher...reaching far
With every new pain and battle scar
Fearing this wall was all that was left....
A rickety construction within her chest

Yet then he came into her life
Breaking the foundation of her prison inside
Her hand in his she vowed to be brave
For he was the one....her life, he did save
